LOS ANGELES (AP) ? If there's one place where Ray Bradbury's legacy is tangibly omnipresent, it's the Electronic Entertainment Expo.

While he denounced video games as "a waste of time for men with nothing else to do," it's impossible not to glimpse at the flashing flatscreens, ubiquitous cameras and people wearing extraterrestrial costumes inside the Los Angeles Convention Center this week and not be reminded of Bradbury's high-tech foreshadowing and otherworldly visions, detailed in literary classics like "Fahrenheit 451," ''Something Wicked This Way Comes" and "The Martian Chronicles."

"I definitely read his books when I was a kid," said Peter Molyneux, creator of the role-playing "Fable" series and studio head at developer 22 Cans. "I think with those worlds that he created, he inspired all of us. There are games and scenes in this very hall which have probably been influenced by him ? both consciously and unconsciously."

Bradbury, who died Tuesday night at age 91, foretold of much of the technology powering the gaming industry's annual trade show and inspired many of the games' storylines being hyped at E3: cutthroat capitalism, interactive TVs, intergalactic affairs, handheld doodads and clandestine conspiracy theories, just to name a few.

The Martian Chronicles was just "mind-blowing at the time," said Adrian Chmielarz ? creative director at "Gears of War: Judgment" developer People Can Fly ? of Bradbury's short story collection about telepathic aliens. "The way (game developers') brains work, we read everything ? anime, comic books, everything ? and hope that someday our work will result in similar greatness."

Corey May, writer of Ubisoft Entertainment's "Assassin's Creed" series, cited Bradbury as one of the inspirations for the time-bending, stealthy series. The third installment of the franchise is set amid the American Revolution.

"His influence his undeniable," said May. "I would credit him with getting me interested in a dystopian future and the idea that you could project ideas forward and play with them in writing. Obviously, it's something we've been doing a little bit of with what we're working on with 'Assassin's Creed III."

While some designers in attendance at E3 were not fans of Bradbury or familiar with his work, those that were seemed certain he indirectly affected the entire gaming industry.

Reasons To Build Custom Homes | South Jersey Real Estate Agent

There are many advantages of custom homes to consider when planning your dream residence. Deciding to build a custom home is a thrilling experience and a big investment in a person?s life. One advantage is that this option offers you the most flexibility when planning the layout. You?ll be in a position to design precisely what your folks needs rather than working with whatever a pre-built home has to give. This process also allows you to choose the materials you would like your home to be constructed out of and can be built on the land that you choose. Building your dream home will permit you the luxury of planning the elements that you are feeling are the most important to you and your family?s wants.

Another reason custom homes are a quality investment is you will be the first folk to live in the property and won?t have to stress about roofing replacements issues, foundation issue, or other structural wear and tear that happens when you purchase a home that could have been built many years ago. You will be able to ensure the property is well maintained in the years to come. A custom home will reflect your character and give you a great sense of achievement.

Being prepared to build custom homes

It is important to do some preparation when planning to build custom houses. This?ll help you avoid pricey errors during construction. The first is to plan your budget. Figure out if you will need both a construction loan as well as a mortgage. After you know the amount you can qualify for, you can plan for the construction process. It?s also vital to plan for any hidden costs which will happen. Your general contractor will be able to help identify these costs with you.

Next you?ll need to pick the site for your new place. It?s really important to have the land picked out before you design home to take advantage of the views and the form of the lot. Be certain to check the site for zooming, drainage, soil condition, and the building codes that apply to the area. The following step is selecting a professional and experienced contractor for your project and other experts to join your team in the building process. Doing a little research on the contractor who will oversee your project will save you both money and time. Finally, the final step is to choose the plan for your home.

Having each one of these elements prepared will assist in making the building of your dream residence a hassle free experience. It is particularly helpful to have a well planned budget in place so you will not be shocked with sudden costs during the construction process. Be sure to pick a professional team including your contractor, designer, and designer. These pro aid in making custom homes attainable.

Spain awaits bank audit; no immediate bailout

BRUSSELS/MADRID (Reuters) - Spain has no immediate plans to request a European bailout of its banks and is awaiting the results of an independent banking audit due later this month before any further steps are taken, Economy Minister Luis de Guindos said on Wednesday.

Multiple EU sources say, however, that Spain, Germany and European Union policymakers are in intense discussions over how to help Madrid recapitalize its troubled banks after a series of reforms failed to convince on the stability of the country's financial system.

Doubts over Spanish banks' ability to handle losses related to a property crash and two successive recessions have pushed the euro zone's fourth largest economy's borrowing costs to levels that could tip it into an international bailout.

Spain is pushing for changes to European rules to be able to get aid for banks without too many state conditions attached, sources said.

That would spare the government the humiliation of having to ask for a sovereign bailout but it is unclear how much flexibility it will get from Germany which has said the government must request a bailout.

An external audit of Spain's banking system expected before the end of June is likely to reveal additional capital needs of 30 billion to 70 billion euros, economists say. Prior to that, an IMF report into the banking sector is due on June 11.

The government is sure the results from both reports will tally, de Guindos told reporters in Brussels, where he will meet EU Competition Commission Joaquin Almunia later.

"From there, the Spanish government will take the decisions it has to in terms of recapitalizing the institutions," he said.

His colleague, Treasury Minister Cristobal Montoro said on Tuesday that European mechanisms should be used to revive Spanish banks, although the amount needed is not astronomical, breaking with the government's line up to now that it could handle the bill alone.

The risk premium investors demand to hold Spanish 10-year debt rather than the German benchmark reached its highest level since the launch of the euro, at 548 basis points, last week. It has eased to 500 bps since then on hopes that action is imminent.

One option being discussed in some euro zone capitals was for money to be handed to the Spanish bank rescue fund FROB to avoid the government having the humiliation of asking for aid, an EU source said, though the legal position on that was not clear.

THREE DIFFERENT ASSESSMENTS

Three different assessments of Spanish banks are due in the coming days and months. The IMF report will include how much capital the financial system needs to weather a severe economic downturn.

The government has also hired consultancies Oliver Wyman and Roland Berger to carry out audits before the end of June which will assess the capital needs for the system as a whole.

Each consultancy will use Bank of Spain data to run a stress test using the methodology of similar tests carried out in Europe last year by the European Banking Authority, said one banking source.

Five different sources said that in a bid to increase confidence in the result, the two auditors will run their data independently, without consulting each other, and could come up with different final numbers.

Another audit, to be completed by August or September, will be conducted by the 'Big Four' accountants - KPMG, Deloitte, Ernst & Young and Price Waterhouse Coopers.

This will involve an inspection of each bank, two banking sources and one legal source said, valuing assets and how the lenders are complying with the demands of two banking reforms which demand recognition of heavy losses on real estate assets.

It will also assess banks' risk control processes.

CAN THE RULES BE CHANGED?

Spain already meets the conditions to apply for aid that it would use for its banks, under the regulations of the existing European bailout fund, the EFSF.

However, EFSF aid would come with stringent conditions making it politically unsavory for the government which is why Spain is pressing for modifications to the rules of Europe's bigger bailout fund, the ESM, which comes into effect in July, allowing it to give direct aid to banks.

Legal experts disagree over whether that is possible and Berlin remains opposed, although it might consider giving money to the FROB banking fund tantamount to lending to the state.

Questions also remain over whether smaller troubled Spanish banks such as state-intervened CatalunyaCaixa and NovaCaixaGalicia could be rescued, because they are not classified as systemic, one of the provisos for accessing European help.

EU sources said that even if direct aid for the banks can be negotiated, conditions could still be attached and Spain's government would have to ask for it and sign a memorandum of understanding that carries the stigma of a state rescue.

The external auditors are expected to uncover more losses in the financial system under stressed scenarios adding an extra 30-70 billion euros to the 84 billion euros already identified related to real estate losses and potential losses.

Spanish officials are optimistic that the number will be at the lower end of the range and hope it will even surprise markets by being lower than expected.

Prominent Spanish Banker Emilio Botin, Chairman of Santander, the euro zone's biggest bank, said on Monday he expected the figure to be 40 billion euros, though it was not clear whether he was referring to all banks in the system.

Government sources said they do not believe the audit will reveal system-wide losses as deep as the ones recently revealed at Bankia, Spain's fourth-biggest lender which is being nationalized by the government in a rescue estimated at some 23.5 billion euros.

A Spanish business newspaper reported on Wednesday that the government is working on a new banking reform, the third one this year, to make sure banks have enough capital to deal with losses on mortgages as well as on loans to businesses and consumer credit.

Hanoi opens 3 new sites for POW search

HANOI, Vietnam (AP) ? The Vietnamese government on Monday agreed to open three new sites in the country for excavation by the United States to search for troop remains from the war, the minister of defense told U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta during a meeting here.

The announcement came as Panetta and Vietnam Defense Minister Phuong Quang Thanh exchanged long-held artifacts collected during the war ? including letters written by a U.S. soldier who was killed that had been kept and used as propaganda, and a small maroon diary belonging to a Vietnamese soldier. A U.S. service member took the journal back to the U.S.

During a press briefing, where the two defense chiefs formally handed over the papers, both said their countries want to work together, whether or not the expanded relationship bothers China.

Beijing has expressed concern over America's new defense strategy that puts more focus on the Asia-Pacific region, including plans to increase the number of troops, ships and other military assets in the region.

Speaking through an interpreter, Thanh said Vietnam wants to continue defense cooperation with all countries, including stable and longstanding relationships with China and the United States. Hanoi, he said, would not sacrifice relations with one country for another.

Panetta said the U.S. goal is to help strengthen the capabilities of countries across the region.

"Frankly the most destabilizing situation would be if we had a group of weak nations and only the United States and China were major powers in this region," said Panetta.

Defense officials reviewing the packet of papers given to Panetta said it appears there are three sets of letters, including a set from the soldier, U.S. Army Sgt. Steve Flaherty, who was from Columbia, S.C. It was not clear how many other service members' letters were there, but officials were going through them Monday.

Officials said this is the first time such a joint exchange of war artifacts has occurred. The two defense leaders agreed to return the papers to the families of the deceased soldiers.

During the meeting with Panetta, Vietnamese officials said they would open the three previously restricted sites that the Pentagon believes are critical to locating troops missing in action.

Ron Ward, U.S. casualty resolution specialist at the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command in Hanoi said there are at least four U.S. troops believed to be lost in the three areas that were opened by the Vietnamese Monday. With those three areas now open, Ward said there are now just eight sites left that are still restricted by the Vietnamese.

Military officers briefing Panetta at the command's office said they had five to seven years to complete their excavation work. The acidic soil in Vietnam erodes bones quickly, leaving in many cases only teeth for the military teams to use to try and identify service members, one of the team members said.

In addition, many of the potential witnesses with information about remains are getting older and their memories are fading.

There are about nearly 1,300 cases that are still unaccounted for, and officers briefing Panetta said about 600 of those remains could be recoverable.

Ward said that opening the three new sites will enable the U.S. to try and find:

-- Two Air Force members who were lost when their plane was shot down in Quang Binh Province in central Vietnam in 1967.

-- An Army private first class who went missing when he was out with his unit on a search-and-destroy mission in 1968 in the tri-border area of Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

-- A Marine who was on a surface-to-air combat mission and was lost when his plane went down in Quang Tri Province. Another Marine on the plane ejected and was rescued.

Flaherty, who was with the 101st Airborne, was killed in the northern section of South Vietnam in March 1969. According to defense officials, Vietnamese forces took his letters and used them in broadcasts during the war.

Vietnamese Col. Nguyen Phu Dat kept the letters, but it was not until last August, when he mentioned them in an online publication, that they started to come to light.

Early this year, Robert Destatte, a retired Defense Department employee who had worked for the POW/MIA office, noticed the online publication, and the Pentagon began to work to get the letters back to Flaherty's family.

The small diary belonged to Vu Dinh Doan, a Vietnamese soldier who was found killed in a machine gun fight, according to defense officials. Officials said that a Marine, Robert "Ira" Frazure of Walla Walla, Wash., saw the diary ? with a photo and some money inside ? on the chest of the dead soldier and took it back to the U.S.

The diary came to light earlier this year when the sister of a friend of Frazure's was doing research for a book and Frazure asked her help in returning the diary. The sister, Marge Scooter, brought the diary to the PBS television program History Detectives.

The show then asked the Defense and State departments to help return the diary.

Leading Car Rental Companies: What Are Their Feautures ...

Renting cars is a growing industry for a variety of reasons. No longer reserved for out-of-town travelers, rentals are used by local drivers more frequently. Finding a reputable rental agency is necessary for a positive rental experience. All car rental companies share certain qualities that have helped them become industry leaders. These qualities may vary in degree between agencies.

Best Practices

Good rental agencies follow industry best practices including using transparent contracts, verification of driver identification, driving record checks, and quality insurance coverage. Agencies that use deceptive or misleading practices earn bad reputations. One of the biggest complaints associated with rental agencies is the practice of including hidden fees in rental contracts. Leading rental agencies offer contracts that are transparent in terms of fees, taxes, and service requirements.

Guaranteed Price Quote

Nothing is more frustrating than getting a quote and have the rental company not honor the quote when you go to get your rental car. Many drivers simply give in to this unscrupulous practice because they are short on time or just do not want the hassle of arguing. Great companies provide quotes and honor them. If there is a reason the final price may change at the counter, you will be informed of that at the time the quote is given. You will not be surprised by your rental costs.

Diverse Fleet

Rental companies that rent sedans as well as sports cars are popular because they include vehicles in their fleet that meet the needs of various customers. Many drivers prefer SUVs even if they cost more. Drivers have different space requirements including the need to carry luggage or child restraint seats. The top companies have something for everyone.

Free Pick-Up

Catering to their customers is yet another hallmark of good rental companies. To this end, they offer free pick-up services. This means they will come to your location, usually within a 15 mile radius, to drive you to the rental company to get your rental.

Commitment to Customer Service

In fact the leading car rental companies are interested in your future business that?s why they are dedicated to providing you with the very best customer service. You know they are interested in what you think about them because they ask you to complete surveys. Importantly, car rental companies use that information to make changes that improve their services. They are likely to have a formal quality assurance program in place.

Chesapeake to replace 4 directors in nod to Icahn

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) ? Just weeks after taking a stake in Chesapeake Energy Corp., activist shareholder Carl Icahn has helped orchestrate a shake-up at the nation's No. 2 natural gas producer.

Chesapeake said Monday it plans to replace four of its existing board members in the next few weeks. The board has been under fire for recent corporate governance controversies and the company's stock has plunged as natural gas prices hit 10-year lows.

Chesapeake said the decision follows extensive talks with Icahn and the company's biggest shareholder, Southeastern Asset Management.

Icahn recently acquired a 7.6 percent stake in Chesapeake. In a scathing letter to Chesapeake's board made public late last month, Icahn wrote that the board had failed its basic function of overseeing management in "dramatic fashion." It's been disclosed over the past few weeks that Chief Executive Aubrey McClendon was allowed to borrow money from a company that Chesapeake was doing business with and run a hedge fund that bet on oil and gas prices. The borrowings were related to a program that entitled McClendon to buy personal stakes in company wells.

Icahn also recounts in the letter that he asked that shareholders be given representation on the board, but was rebuffed the next day.

Now, a little more than a week after refusing, Chesapeake has relented.

Icahn or a person he chooses will take one seat on the board. Southeastern Asset Management, which holds a 13.6 percent stake, will select three board members. A fifth board member is retiring.

Michael Hall, a senior analyst at Robert W. Baird & Co., said the move "will go a long way in addressing the market's lack of confidence around Chesapeake's corporate governance and likely usher in a new culture of increased conservatism."

Icahn's Chesapeake stock purchase was disclosed in a regulatory filing last month. He spent about $785 million for 50.1 million shares. Icahn is known for investing in companies and aggressively calling for change.

Chesapeake, along with other natural gas companies, has been hit hard by falling natural gas prices. The Oklahoma City company's shares have lost 30 percent so far this year. They rose 1.7 percent to $15.85 in morning trading on Monday.

Chesapeake has the added burden of a huge debt load, which Icahn pins on the board. Chesapeake's plan is to sell oil and gas leases and other assets to raise money to pay down debt. Biju Perincheril, an analyst at Jeffries & Company, estimates the company needs to sell at least $7 billion worth of assets before the end of the year or risk violating the terms of some of its loans.

Chesapeake is seeking a new board chairman after agreeing last month to strip McClendon of that title. The company has agreed that the selection must be approved by Icahn and Southeastern Asset Management.

"We are pleased that Chesapeake is being responsive to issues raised by us and many of the company's other shareholders," said Southeastern Asset Chairman and CEO O. Mason Hawkins in a statement.

McClendon will remain as CEO and a board member. The selection of a new chairman will be made by June 22.

"I am fully supportive of these measures and remain focused on executing Chesapeake's strategy," McClendon said in a statement.

Chesapeake's board will continue to have nine members.

To Pakistan, Shakil Afridi is a traitor who helped a foreign power locate and kill an enemy on its territory. To the US, Dr. Afridi is a hero who will now, apparently, spend the next 33 years of his life in prison.

The US lobbied hard with the Pakistani government to gain Afridi?s release. US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, during a February 2012 visit to Islamabad, urged Pakistani authorities to release Afridi, but Pakistan declined. Given the substantial public anger in Pakistan over the bin Laden killing ? more about the US?s violation of Pakistani sovereignty than for sympathy for the man ? Pakistan sealed Afridi?s fate.

Now his sentencing marks another low-water mark for the US-Pakistani relationship, and highlights how little common ground the two countries share. But expectations for each side are now so low that it?s unlikely the US is going to adopt another full-court press as seen when another US spy ? Raymond Davis ? faced detention in Pakistan.

Think you know Asia? Take our quiz?

To be sure, Afridi?s Pakistani nationality also means the US isn?t going to view his detention in quite the same leave-no-man-behind terms. And the US does not have the same legal arguments of the Geneva Conventions as it did in the case of Mr. Davis.

But there?s also much less riding on the US-Pakistan relationship than even a year ago when the Davis affair erupted. NATO has managed to keep the Afghan war effort going, despite Pakistan cutting off supply lines through its territory. Then, too, trust has evaporated since the discovery of bin Laden in Pakistan and the unauthorized US raid to kill him.

Roller coaster ride

America has had a roller coaster relationship with Pakistan for years. In the 1980s and early 1990s, the US and Pakistan were as thick as thieves, funding, arming, and training Afghan and Pakistani fighters to take on the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. After the Soviets withdrew, and after Pakistan successfully tested a nuclear device, the US imposed strict military sanctions against Pakistan, and left that country with tens of thousands of former militants, thousands of politically charged Islamic seminaries, and a Pakistani economy addicted to foreign aid.

Today, the US and Pakistan have spent a decade ostensibly fighting on the same side against Islamist extremist groups ? some of whom use Pakistan?s less-well-controlled corners, such as Swat and Northern Waziristan, as their bases ? and yet it is not clear how much these two countries share in common anymore.

Altitude training: Study puts some data behind conventional wisdom

ScienceDaily (June 1, 2012) ? Altitude training is a popular technique among athletes preparing for a competition, especially expert runners. Much research has been conducted on how to do it, at what altitude to train, how to modify workouts and how long to stay at altitude. However, a major unanswered question is when should an athlete return from altitude to compete?

Coaches of elite runners generally take one of two sides.

"They either believe an athlete should compete within 48 hours of coming back from altitude or in the 18- to 22-day range after returning," said Robert Chapman, exercise physiologist in the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation at Indiana University Bloomington. "But there is little scientific evidence showing why these coaches' opinions are valid."

His study, which was discussed at the American College of Sports Medicine annual meeting on May 31 suggests that both camps might be right.

About the study:

  • Six elite distance runners lived in Flagstaff, Ariz., for 28 days at an altitude of 2,150 meters. They followed a "live high, train low" altitude training program, which means that although the athletes lived at a high altitude, they trained at 1,000 meters to do harder and faster workouts a few times per week. After returning from the 28-day camp, the runners were tested over the course of 26 days. Researchers focused on testing heart rate, running economy and mechanics.
  • Physiological data shows that what most coaches say is true. Several variables showed that 48 hours is a good time to compete based on breathing results, while Day 7 and 13 showed more difficulty.

Chapman said this might be attributed to a concept referred to as ventilatory acclimatization.

"At altitude, a person breathes more, and that extra breathing stays with you when you come back down from altitude. Extra breathing uses more muscles, more energy, and the body has to work more to regulate blood flow," he said.

This study suggests that an athlete may perform best at 18 to 22 days because the extra breathing goes away and the body gets re-acclimated to a lower altitude.

"This research will help athletes plan for major competitions," says lead author Abby Laymon, graduate student in the School of HPER's Department of Kinesiology. "For example, if an athlete is training for the Olympic trials, they can count backwards and plan their workout accordingly to perform their best after altitude training."

This study joins four others from IU that focus on altitude training. Future studies will determine why the physiological changes occur post-altitude.

The study, "Time-course of changes in cardiorespiratory measures post-altitude training: Implications for competitive endurance performance," was discussed May 31 during the High Altitude/Hypoxia I session.

Co-authors are Daniel P. Wilhite, Joseph W. Duke, Jonathon L. Stickford, Joel M. Stager and Timothy D. Mickleborough, all from the School of HPER's Department of Kinesiology.

Attorney: George Zimmerman ready to surrender

SANFORD, Fla. (AP) ? George Zimmerman has returned to Florida and will turn himself in to authorities by Sunday's deadline after a judge revoked his bond in the Trayvon Martin case, an attorney said.

Attorney Mark O'Mara announced Zimmerman's return on his website Sunday, saying Zimmerman arrived late Saturday evening. Zimmerman, who is charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of the 17-year-old Martin, was ordered by a judge Friday to return to jail.

The press release on the website said the deadline for his surrender is 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

The judge revoked Zimmerman's bond, suggesting he and his wife had not been honest about their finances. During a bond hearing in April, the couple had indicated they had limited funds. But prosecutors say Zimmerman had raised thousands through a website he had set up for his legal defense.

Zimmerman's legal team said Sunday that they will ask for a new bond hearing to address those concerns, and that they hope Zimmerman's voluntary surrender will show he is not a flight risk. Furthermore, the money Zimmerman has raised is in an independent trust and cannot be directly accessed by Zimmerman or his attorneys, according to the press release.

Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to the second-degree murder charge. He maintains he shot Martin in self-defense under Florida's so-called "stand your ground" law because the teen, who was unarmed, was beating him up after confronting Zimmerman about following him in a gated community outside Orlando.

Zimmerman's credibility could become an issue at trial, legal experts said, noting the case hinges on jurors believing Zimmerman's account of what happened the night in February that Martin was killed.

Zimmerman wasn't charged in the case until more than a month after the shooting. Protests were held across the nation, and the case spurred debate about whether race was a factor in Zimmerman's actions and in the initial police handling of the case. Martin was black; Zimmerman's father is white and his mother is from Peru.

Police in Sanford did not immediately arrest Zimmerman, citing the Florida law that gives wide latitude to use deadly force rather than retreat in a fight if people believe they are in danger of being killed or seriously injured.

The questioning of Zimmerman's truthfulness by the judge on Friday could undermine the defendant's credibility if it is brought up at trial. It also may complicate how his defense presents him as a witness, said Orlando-area attorney Randy McClean, a former prosecutor.

"The other key witness, unfortunately, is deceased," McClean said. "Basically, Zimmerman is going to be asking the jury to believe his version of the facts. ... As the case stands now, his credibility is absolutely critical to the case."

Jail authorities in central Florida, where the case arose, said Zimmerman had not turned himself in there by early Sunday. He must do so by Sunday afternoon.

Zimmerman went into hiding in the weeks after the shooting and his exact whereabouts since he bonded out of jail remain unclear. It was not immediately clear exactly where Zimmerman would surrender.

Witness accounts of the rainy night that Martin was shot are spotty. There is no video of the fight, though photos released by prosecutors show Zimmerman with wounds to his face and the back of his head.

Zimmerman's credibility would be important if his attorney, Mark O'Mara, tries to get a judge without the jury to dismiss the charges based on the law, said Orlando defense attorney David Hill.

"If he was in on something that was not truthfully revealed to the judge, when there is a 'stand your ground' hearing, of course you're going to second-guess him," Hill said.

Both McClean and Hill said O'Mara would be able to challenge the admissibility of the bond revocation at trial by questioning its relevance.

Zimmerman was arrested 44 days after the killing, and during a bond hearing in April, his wife, Shellie, testified that the couple had limited funds available. Zimmerman took the stand at the hearing and apologized to Martin's parents.

Prosecutors pointed out in their motion that Zimmerman had $135,000 available then. It had been raised from donations through a website he had set up. They suggested more has been collected since and deposited in a bank account.

Shellie Zimmerman was asked about the website at the hearing, but she said she didn't know how much money had been raised. Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester set bail at $150,000. The 28-year-old was freed a few days later after posting $15,000 in cash ? which is typical.

Prosecutor Bernie De la Rionda complained Friday, "This court was led to believe they didn't have a single penny. It was misleading and I don't know what words to use other than it was a blatant lie." The judge agreed and ordered Zimmerman returned to jail by Sunday afternoon.

The defense countered that Zimmerman and his wife never used the money for anything, which indicated "there was no deceit."

The judge said he would schedule a hearing after Zimmerman is back in custody so he could explain himself.

Benjamin Crump, an attorney for Trayvon Martin's parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, said his clients have always said Zimmerman should remain in jail until trial.
